Metropolitan Line poetry

Mostly composed on the 07:33 to Finchley Road, then hastily typed up at work. Apart from the ones written surreptitiously in boring meetings or on the way home.

Sidewalk

I dreamt that I walked on the ghosts of pavements,
barefoot, sideways, backwards, down. Slipped through
the solid seeming earth, curled my toes around silt and sand.
Felt the moss moisten, stone bruise my unaccustomed heel.
Heard the loud birds. Saw my city's morning nakedness.
